GOAL
To create bright, engaging game content for children within a tight production timeline; unite several games through a shared character and visual style; ensure quick user onboarding and intuitive gameplay mechanics; and implement a competitive element with score tracking.
CONCEPT
Eight games were developed and installed on separate arcade machines. The project was based on classic and instantly recognizable game mechanics — from Snake and Pac-Man to shooters and battle games — adapted for an exhibition format and a young audience.
The capybara became the main character and the connecting element across all gameplay scenarios. All games were created in the client’s branded visual style. The characters were fully animated, while the interfaces were simplified and designed for a quick start, easy interaction, and high engagement.
CAPY MAZE
A magical forest is calling. The capybara explores tangled mazes, collects flowers, and avoids enemies. The game uses a classic Pac-Man mechanic reimagined in a cute kawaii style.
CAPY TOWN
Speed, style, and a capybara. The player rides a skateboard through a Japanese city, jumps onto platforms, dodges enemies, and collects coins. A dynamic runner with the atmosphere of evening Tokyo.
MARMELADEMANIA
A sweet world of colorful chaos. The capybara crosses marmalade paths, rivers, and meadows while avoiding collisions with other animals and objects. A bright arcade action game inspired by Crossy Road, set in a world of gummy bears.
CAPY BALL
Disco, neon, and match-3. The capybara shoots bubbles filled with hearts, stars, rainbows, and other objects, matching three identical bubbles in a row to earn points. A burst of color, rhythm, and fun.
SCORE TRACKING SYSTEM
An RFID card scanning mechanic was implemented to record players’ scores.
The system tracks results, keeps a record of winners, and provides a transparent competitive mechanic for participants.
CAPY FRIENDS
Beaches, palm trees, and capybara friends. The capybara gathers a cheerful chain of friends, catches bonuses, and maneuvers between other snakes. The player has to be careful: biting someone else’s tail is tempting, but losing your own is definitely not part of the plan.
CAPY TOWER
Build, balance, and don’t let it fall. In the jungle, the capybara builds a living tower of animals. Every move requires precision: one wrong step, and the whole tower comes crashing down.
CAPY STREAMER
Taking off into the clouds. The capybara pilots a spaceship through sunset clouds, flies through glowing rings, collects bonuses, and skillfully avoids obstacles. An aerial adventure with a sense of freedom.
CAPY BATTLE
The battle of moods begins. The capybara travels between different worlds — from a medieval arena with a castle to a cozy café or a magical swamp — and faces meme-inspired characters: This Is Fine Dog, Grumpy Cat, and Pepe the Frog.
SOUND DESIGN
Original music and game sound effects were created for the project. The sound design supports the atmosphere of the game zone, enhances gameplay dynamics, and increases players’ emotional engagement.
SPECIAL INTERACTIVE GAME
A separate game, “CapiPoo,” was developed as a special interactive experience with two large round buttons and a wall projection. When the player presses the buttons, the capybara jumps upward using a Doodle Jump-style mechanic, creating the feeling of live physical interaction.
RESULT
A bright and playful game-based experience, fully adapted to the exhibition environment.
The project successfully engaged its target audience: children actively interacted with the games and became immersed in the playful world of the exhibition.
